The Forest Path

An oil painting done in Rebelle, depicting a forest path at night. I am growing very fond of Rebelle as a painting tool.

I am still developing my painting style when it comes to nature. I work with ranges of green — in this case, cool shades of emerald. For contrast, I used russet browns and greys for trunks and rocks. The moonlight filtering down from above is an even cooler shade of very pale blue-green.

A forest path winds its way into the distance in shades of dark green and russet brown.
The path snakes its way through the forest. Don’t you ache to find out where it goes?

And just for fun, I superimposed a couple of roleplaying games characters. They’re a little cartoonish, to match the style I use for flowers and details.

Two elves block the forest path, ready for a fight.
Did you want to see where the path goes? You’ll need to fast-talk your way past these elves first.
